Another con gone by!

My friend and I made one more pit stop before hitting the road…and from the other stall I hear “I can’t believe it’s over!”. Oh that sinking feeling you get when the con is over you’re on the way home and realize it’s back to reality.
Another very nice, very relaxed convention for Vulkon. The guests must love it, they can pretty much wander around, no one really bothers them other than the occasional “hi”. At so many cons the schedule is so tight you’re exhausted from running from event to event. Not here.

The panels, as usual, were hilarious. I still can’t get enough of those “behind the scenes” stories. Jonathan Frakes was incredibly animated, wandering around the room during questions, standing on chairs…there was one row completely empty, in the middle of a sentence he stops and asks “hey, what happened to all these people?” He told us how close their cast was, and how to this day they still keep in touch. He kept referring to Patrick Stewart as “old baldie”. And lovingly made fun of Marina Sirtis.

One of the funny stories I remember from the Nana Visitor panel, was a story about a joke they played on Avery Brooks; during a scene where they were standing on the bridge during a battle, they were supposed to be swaying and shaking. Someone, and she swore she didn’t remember who, came up with the idea not to when the camera rolled. Avery, being in the front, couldn’t see behind him and was the only one doing the scene!

Aron and Cirroc also had plenty to say. The best one is a scene where Nog had to say a line to Jake “?” Aron just couldn’t get the line out, and after 16 takes, when he finally did, Cirroc couldn’t remember what he was supposed to say. It is obvious that the two of them are good friends and had a great time working together.

But perhaps the best part of the convention was spending time with my three friends. :-)
