Dragoncon 2006

My first Dragoncon. And Certainly not my last. But definitely the biggest convention I've been to. It's like Megacon times ten. This convention takes up 3 hotels in downtown Atlanta. The biggest draw is what they call the "Walk of Fame"; a huge banquet room lined with rows of tables where the actors sit and sign autographs and take photos.

The is an extensive schedule for this event. Events of a similar theme or show are grouped together in "tracks". So the Trek Track organizes the Q&A panels and fan discussions for the Star Trek guests. The Stargate Track organizes those events, etc. This con is like Disney; there is no way to see and do everything before you leave.

Virginia Hey

Farscape

Virginia has some similarities to her character in Farscape, Zhan. She teaches wonderful meditation classes at the conventions. I took the class and loved it. Even bought a couple of cds to bring home and try with the kids...who took it very seriously. I wrote her about the experience, and she wrote me back...even put it on her blog. How cool is that!
